Where is that smoky BBQ accent from?

Appalachia (App-uh-latch-uh). You know where NC, TN, and VA touch? Somewhere around there.

How did you get into speedrunning?

I stumbled upon GDQ's Hurricane Sandy fundraiser and got into watching speedruns. After a few months, I decided to give it a try myself. Pretty atypical for me, as I'm not the kind of person who gets up in front of people to perform or likes to draw attention to myself.

What's your favorite Mario game to speedrun?

Super Mario Bros 2 is my favorite speedrun. My favorite 2D Mario (not as a speedrun) is Mario 3.

How many times have you played these games?

Thousands. Possibly tens of thousands.

What are you playing on?

Is that a Beagle?

He's an American Foxhound. If he looks a little small, it's because he was the runt.

What's your streaming schedule?

5-7x per week, starting around 10 Eastern/8 Mountain

Do you stream full time?

No, I work in IT. This is just a hobby.

How can I get started with speedrunning?

Love to hear that you're interested. Hop into discord and myself + the community are there to help. Looking for something less social? I made a Super Mario Bros 2 tutorial on YouTube and while this Super Mario Bros 1 tutorial is quite old, there is enough here to get you started running small only.

Do you have any World Records?

Not currently in any mainline categories. All-Stars used to go back and forth between myself and a runner named ymgc but maiba came in and blew us both out of the water on run 1. I am currently third. I do have some WRs in lesser run categories & games like Super Mario 2 All Stars - All Mushrooms and Smooth Mario.

Why do you do _________?

It's faster.

I've heard terrible things about Creator Networks?

Me too. And I had my own very lukewarm experience with one. I knew that I could do what they were supposed to be doing better than they were actually doing it. When TikTok reached out and offered the opportunity to open my own, I jumped at it. My Creator Network is a low key, chill, no drama entity that solely exists to make you a better streamer and bring us together as a network and community. No forced battles, no withholding stream keys to keep you in the network, no toxicity. We're just all adults who want to take advantage of the tools and perks a network can offer us. If that sounds like it lines up with what you want in a network, I encourage you to apply. As long as you have a desire to live, we're ready to help you.
